DIY Get That Shredded Look: Easy Way To Cut Up Your Shirt

HAVEN’T POSTED ANY DIY PROJECTS IN A BIT, SORRY ABOUT THAT FOLKS!  WE’VE GOT A NEW ONE FOR YOU TODAY THOUGH.  CHECK IT OUT AS WE SHOW YOU THIS REALLY EASY WAY TO MAKE A SHREDDED BACK SHIRT, ALL YOU NEED ARE SCISSORS AND A RULER!

Get a tee-shirt (or any kind of shirt your heart desires), scissors, and a ruler. Forgot to add it here, but you'll also need a marker or something to make marks on the shirt.

Flip the shirt over to the back and find the middle of the collar. You will be cutting the collar off so you can do this before or after that step.

Next you can cut the collar off. The collar will stretch out eventually so to prevent it from getting too big, I like to cut right under the seam.

Now grab the shirt in the middle of the back where you marked it before and lay the shirt flat. You're only cutting the back layer so make sure the front layer is not underneath.

Mark where you want your cuts to end. In this case, I had 17" or 18" fron the top of the shirt to the end of my cutting.

Mark the shirt every few inches in the direction you want the cuts to go. In this case, i made the cuts into a triangle shape so they will be smaller at the bottom and bigger at the top.

Begin cutting the back. My strips were about half and inch thick. I also cut just a little further each time to make that triangle shape on the back.

Now open the shirt and it should look like this.

Stretch out each strand so that they get skinnier.

And this is your end result! You can use this method for your halloween costumes. You can be a punk, a zombie, or a zombie punk!
